Outdoor Stadium / Olympic Stadium

Outdoor Stadium / National Sports Complex, 1964, Phnom Penh

The Outdoor Stadium that occupies the center of the National Sports Complex was formed as massive green mound. The stands and field were built by excavating a bowl within the mound.
The grandstand is made using 20 cm thick precast concrete plates. The pressroom is cantilevered from the stand.
The Outdoor Stadium looks like a hill. Stairs and toilets are embedded into the hill.
