Formally it is modeled on the temples of the Angkor period. Molyvann had visited the Angkor temple Banteay Srei to study its decoration, and he worked with sculptor Tan Veut on the details. He also wrote that the proportions and dimensions are based on Le Corbusier's modulor system.
